How the electronic prescription works: from doctor to pharmacy — no paper.

Doctor issues the e-prescription — it goes to telematics, not paper

You get a token: paper printout, gematik app or health-fund app

At the pharmacy: scan the code OR insert the eGK OR show the app

Pharmacy dispenses, you pay the co-pay (€5–10/pack)

Refill: many apps can request the follow-up directly
📱 Where to redeem
- • eRezept-App (gematik) — Official: QR code, history, pharmacy finder
- • Kassen-Apps (TK, Barmer…) — TK app, Barmer app and others — same function
- • Karte + PIN — eGK + PIN at the pharmacy — works without an app
- • Papierausdruck — still possible — the code is simply scanned
❓ Questions
- • Secure? Yes — encrypted, only the pharmacy with your eGK/app sees it.
- • All medicines? Almost — narcotics still on paper (BtM).
- • No phone? Paper slip or eGK is enough.
⚠️ Caution
- Co-pay: 10% of price, min. €5, max. €10 — chronic patients often exempt.
- Private prescription: blue slip — you pay even with GKV.
Status 2025, GKV. Private prescriptions and BtM excluded.
