A website is files on someone else’s always-on computer (a server). The "cloud" is rented power: AWS, Hetzner (German!), DigitalOcean. Upload code → the server answers 24/7. The domain is the name (kapnula.de), hosting the place, DNS the link. A backup is insurance: broken? Roll back. HTTPS is the lock 🔒: encrypted traffic.
- ●git push → deploy → the code is live. Logs say what broke
- ●A CDN caches closer to the user: a Tokyo site is fast in Berlin
- ●Hetzner from Bavaria is a German cloud giant with fair prices
☁️ Our site runs on such a server: Linux, PHP, database — plus a cache I reset on deploy. You see the result — the server does the work.
