- Freelancers (doctor, artist, lecturer) do NOT register a Gewerbe — only the tax office.
- Residence permit: employment must be allowed — the "Selbständige Tätigkeit gestattet" note.
- §19 UStG: under €25,000/year revenue no VAT — but still file an EÜR.
- Side business beside a job: allowed, but inform the employer — the clause is in your contract.
