German weather is not boring. Elbe and Rhine can overflow: the 2021 flood killed 180 people in Ahrweiler — since then the NINA app is essential (district warnings). Föhn is the Alpine wind: presses the head, cures joints — myth or truth, but half of Germany gets headaches. Hurricanes are rare, but Xavier (2017) and Kyrill (2007) felled forests and ripped roofs.
- ●NINA app (emergency info): GPS alerts — download it
- ●In floods: do not cross water, do not enter cellars — people drown there
- ●DWD (German Weather Service) is the official forecast and warning
🌊 German cities build polders — flood plains: when the river swells, fields fill, not streets. Nature + engineering = protection.
