112 — the EU emergency number, free, works without SIM. The 5-W formula: WHERE (exact address, floor, door code), WHAT (what happened — “person unconscious, not breathing”), HOW MANY (count the injured), WHO (you + callback number), WAIT — don’t hang up first! The dispatcher asks questions and can guide you through CPR by phone. German and English work.
- ●No address — name street, shop, Kilometerstein on the highway
- ●112 fire/ambulance, 110 police — when in doubt call 112
- ●Apps nora/HelpNow send GPS automatically — install beforehand
📞 Germany gets ~20 million 112 calls a year. Telephone-guided CPR doubles survival chances — the dispatcher’s voice guides your hands.
