Severe bleeding kills in minutes. Rule #1: PRESSURE. Press the wound with clean cloth/bandage and hold 10 min — blood clots itself. 2) Raise the limb above the heart. 3) Pressure bandage: gauze wad on the wound, wrap firmly crisscross. 4) Bled through — DON’T REMOVE, add another layer. Arterial (pulsing, bright red) is most dangerous. Tourniquet only on limbs, only as last resort, note the time.
- ●Foreign object in wound — don’t pull! Bandage around it, doctor removes
- ●Nosebleed: sit leaning FORWARD (not back!), pinch the soft part
- ●Plaster & small wound: rinse, plaster, done — no alcohol into the wound
🩹 A first-aid kit in the car is law in Germany (fine up to €60). Check expiry: materials age. Knowing where it lies is part of driver education.
