The technical drawing is law on paper: drawn and signed means binding. DIN standards (German industry norms) guarantee a Berlin part fits a Munich assembly. Classics: DIN ISO 128 (lines/views), DIN 406 (dimensions), DIN 476 (A4/A3/A2 formats). Three views: front, top, side — first or third angle projection (EU: first). Dimensions in mm, tolerance ±0.1 typical.
- ●Solid line = visible edge, dashed = hidden, dash-dot = axis
- ●Title block bottom right: name, scale, date, signature — without it invalid
- ●Tolerance = range: 50±0.1 = 49.9–50.1 mm — precision costs money
📐 DIN is the world’s oldest standards system (1917). “Deutsche Industrie Norm” became so standard that engineers on every continent read DIN codes.
