The D-Ticket almost works abroad: to Salzburg (Austria), Basel (Switzerland), Świnoujście (Poland) — regional trains reach the border, some routes cross it. Interrail is the “D-Ticket for Europe”: a pass for 4–7 days in a month for ~€250–350 covering 33 countries on most trains (reservations in fast trains ~€10 extra). The cheapest way to tour the continent.
- ●Romania, Poland, Czechia — D-Ticket to the border, then bus
- ●Interrail for EU residents; Eurail for the rest of the world
- ●Always take your passport: even in Schengen trains get checked
🗺 Berlin–Prague on regional trains in 4.5 hours — the most beautiful Elbe route. Slower than the ICE, but free with the D-Ticket.
