Lichess.org — free, ad-free, open source: games, tactics, analysis, lessons. Chess.com — more players, paywall features. Ratings: 800 beginner → 1200 amateur → 1600 club → 2000+ serious. Blitz 3+2 or Rapid 15+10 for learning, Bullet 1+0 for adrenaline (ruins thinking). Dangers: engine cheaters (platform catches some), chat — off, no money talk with strangers.
- ●Post-game analysis mandatory: engine shows 3 mistakes — remember them
- ●No rating chase: aim +10/week, not +100/day
- ●For kids: account with limits, chat off, time capped
🌐 Lichess runs on donations, no ads, no tracking — “service not business”. Especially loved in Germany for privacy.
