Acute but not life-threatening — weekend/night. Doctors come or advise by phone.

Everything routine: colds, sick notes, referrals, checkups — during office hours.
Outpatient clinic
Planned: surgery, overnight tests — via a GP referral.

- Own share: €10/day, max 28 days/year — for GKV patients.
- ER without an emergency gets billed — for minor issues use the on-call service first.
- Privately insured: chief physician/single room only if the policy covers it.
⚖️ Your rights
- Interpreter: free via the clinic if you do not understand German.
- File access: you may see your patient file anytime (§630g BGB).
- Free choice: you can refuse the treating doctor — just ask.
