Kfz-Mechatroniker is an official apprenticeship trade: 3.5 years dual (workshop + vocational school), apprentice pay ~€800–1200, journeyman 2.8–4k, master up to 5k. Branches: cars, trucks, bikes, commercial vehicles, systems & high-voltage (EVs = the future!). Huge skill shortage: thousands of openings, wages rising.

🔧 Per the Handwerkskammer, car mechanics are a top-3 shortage trade. EV service is growing while high-voltage techs are even rarer: the best entry moment in 20 years.
