The color wheel is the map of colors: three primaries (red, yellow, blue) mix into all others. Opposite pairs are contrasts (blue-orange, red-green) — they make each other brighter. Warm colors (red, orange) energize, cool ones (blue, green) calm. Monochrome — one color in shades: looks elegant.
