The contract always states the Brutto — the amount before deductions. You receive the Netto. Deducted are: income tax, pension insurance (~9.3%), health insurance (~7.3% + surcharge), unemployment (~1.3%) and care insurance (~1.7%). Together roughly a third — but almost everything is covered: doctor, pension, unemployment benefit.
- ●Deductions are about 30–40% — depending on tax class
- ●The employer pays an extra ~20% on top
- ●Get the exact figure with our gross-to-net calculator at /rechner
💶 Example: €3,000 gross, class I → about €2,000–2,050 net. Our calculator at /rechner is more precise.
