A percent is a part of a hundred. 50% = half, 25% = quarter. A −20% discount on €50 is minus €10, you pay €40.
- ●10% = 0.1 — drop a zero
- ●50% = a half
- ●100% = the whole thing
💡 Trick: 15% tip = 10% + 5%. On €20 that is €2 + €1 = €3.
