Two main paths: DEGREE (TU Munich, RWTH Aachen, KIT — tops) Bachelor 3 years + Master 2, entry via Abitur/equivalent. TECHNIKER — after apprenticeship (mechatronics, electrician) 2 years evenings or 1 year full-time → State-Certified Technician, near-Bachelor level, often more practical. Salaries: Technician ~€50–65k, Dipl-Ing ~€60–80k entry. For migrants: Techniker easier — home experience counts, German B2 suffices.
