✅ Lesson done
The German pharmacy is not a pill kiosk but a medical institution with a licensed pharmacist on site. Three drug classes: APOTHEKENPFLICHTIG — only in pharmacies (painkillers, drops, ointments); VERSCHREIBUNGSPFLICHTIG — only with a doctor’s prescription (antibiotics, hormones); FREI VERKÄUFLICH — anywhere, even DM/Rossmann (vitamins, tea). Bonus: the pharmacy checks meds and advises free — it’s part of healthcare.
- ●Pharmacy sign = red “A” on white (or mortar/cross)
- ●Pharmacist advice is free: ask about side effects and interactions
- ●Online meds: only German pharmacies — or it’s counterfeit
💊 Germany has ~19,000 pharmacies, each requiring a pharmacist on duty. Even a mail-order pharmacy must be a registered German pharmacy — or it’s fake/dangerous.
