✅ Lesson done
Two harmless meds together can be poison. Classic: anticoagulants (Warfarin, Marcumar) + ibuprofen/aspirin = bleeding. Grapefruit + statins = overdose. Antibiotics + milk = no absorption. Sleeping pill + alcohol = respiratory arrest. Rule: every new med — tell the pharmacist WHAT you already take, including herbs and vitamins. St. John’s wort kills almost all pills.
- ●Med list on phone/in wallet — saves in the hospital
- ●Alcohol + any med = always ask the pharmacist
- ●Pregnancy = tell doctor and pharmacist BEFORE any pill
⚠️ Grapefruit is the interaction champion: one fruit cancels or boosts 85+ meds for 3 days. Not a “vitamin” — a pharmacological agent.
