Main traps for Russian speakers: „и“ vs „і“ (і = rus. и, и = rus. ы); „е“ vs „є“ (є after vowels/at start: „єдиний“); unstressed vowels do NOT change („молоко“ reads [moloko], not [malako]). Separate/together: „не можна“ — separate, „неможливо“ — together. Participles -чи: „читаючи“.
- ●і = „i“, и = „y“: любити, молоко
- ●Є at start/after vowel: єдиний, моє
- ●Vowels don’t reduce: молоко = [moloko]
✏️ „Forty forties“ — Ukrainian „сорок сороків“: genitive plural -ів, not -ов like Russian. One of the most common bilingual errors.
