Applying: uni-assist, Hochschulstart, NC

📖 Lesson ──▶ 🎯 Quiz — pick the translation ──▶ ✅ Lesson done

Applications go through uni-assist (checks documents for ~180 universities), Hochschulstart (for limited-capacity subjects) or directly. NC — Numerus Clausus — is the grade cutoff: when applicants outnumber places, the Abitur average decides. Medicine often needs 1.0–1.3, while informatics is open-admission at many universities.

●Deadlines: July 15 (winter), January 15 (summer) — varies by university
●Needed: diploma with translation, language certificate (usually TestDaF/DSH), motivation
●Wartezeit — waiting semesters raise chances without top grades

📌 No NC ≠ bad university. Many strong programs admit everyone qualified — the cutoff reflects demand, not quality.
