Upcycling means value from discards: crates → shelves, pallets → furniture, old dresser → Shabby Chic. German "Sperrmüll" culture: furniture on the kerb (date set by the city) — legally free to take if not chained. Start: linseed oil and hard wax, sanding 120→220. Shabby Chic: sanded + white paint + wax = a €20 dresser becomes "vintage" for €120 on Etsy. Pallet furniture: HT pallets only (heat-treated, no chemicals) — check the EPAL HT stamp.
