Criminal law basics: what is forbidden and why

The Strafgesetzbuch (StGB) is the code of what is punishable. The terms: Verbrechen (felony — from 1 year), Vergehen (misdemeanour), Ordnungswidrigkeit (fine, not criminal). Important: Beleidigung — insult is punishable up to 1 year (yes, "du Idiot" online is a real offence); Diebstahl — shoplifting from €100 goes to police; Körperverletzung — even a push is assault; juvenile law is softer up to 21. Ignorance of the law is no defence.

●Nothilfe: helping in an emergency is allowed — even if mistaken
●Urkundenfälschung: forged tickets/documents mean prison, not "savings"

🚨 "Zivilcourage" is helping in danger. If you help and err — no punishment (self-defence/defence of others). If you stand and film — that is failure to render aid.
