The easiest garden is herbs: basil, parsley, dill, mint, chives grow year-round in pots. The secret: a sunny window (south/west) and correct cutting — snip basil above a leaf pair so it branches and thickens. Mint survives even half-shade but takes over the box — plant it separately.
