Medicine: the hardest path

Medicine is the most competitive subject: NC often above 1.0. Studies take 6+ years: 2 years theory (anatomy, biochemistry), 4 years clinical, then the Staatsexamen instead of a bachelor. Then 5–6 years of Facharzt specialization — already paid. Alternatives without a top grade: nursing → medicine, medical engineering, foreign university with recognition.
