Medicine is the most competitive subject: NC often above 1.0. Studies take 6+ years: 2 years theory (anatomy, biochemistry), 4 years clinical, then the Staatsexamen instead of a bachelor. Then 5–6 years of Facharzt specialization — already paid. Alternatives without a top grade: nursing → medicine, medical engineering, foreign university with recognition.
- ●Physikum — the first big exam after 4 semesters
- ●TMS — a test that can substitute part of the NC
- ●GPs earn ~90–130k €, specialists more
💊 Germany is short ~110,000 doctors — especially in rural areas. Medicine is a guaranteed-future profession.
