✅ Lesson done
The law is on your side: holiday minimum 24 days on a 6-day week (20 on a 5-day), in reality 28–30. Working time max 8 hours a day (48 a week), from 6 hours — lunch break minimum 30 minutes. Overtime only by contract or with a bonus (Mehrarbeit +25–50%). The Betriebsrat is the workers’ council that protects in disputes. Working-time fraud (faking hours) means instant dismissal.
- ●Holiday cannot be bought out — it must be taken
- ●The break after 6 hours is mandatory by law, not a "bonus"
- ●Time tracking is mandatory since 2022 — hours are documented
⚖️ The average German works 38.2 hours a week — less than in the US or Japan. Productivity is higher: "work smart", not "long".
