Class B allows a trailer up to 750 kg or up to 3.5 t combined (car + light trailer). Need more? B96 is the 7-hour course without exam: trailer up to 4.25 t combined. BE covers the "heavy trailers": up to 3.5 t, with an exam. What for: boat, caravan, builder’s trailer, horse box.

●B96 is cheaper: ~€300–500, 7 hours, no exam — the "quick trailer"
●BE costs more (~€600–900) but allows trailers up to 3.5 t — horses, big boat
●Reversing with a trailer is the "learning curve": steer the opposite way!
