✅ Lesson done
SCHUFA is Germany’s main credit bureau. It stores accounts, loans, phone contracts and missed payments. A good score (95%+) opens apartments and loans; a bad one can even block a phone contract. Once a year the report is free (data copy under Art. 15 GDPR). For loans, check the effektiver Jahreszins — the true yearly cost, not the advertised Sollzins.
- ●Payment 2 weeks overdue + 2 reminders → negative entry
- ●A condition inquiry is harmless; a formal loan application can hurt
- ●A negative entry stays 3 years after the debt is paid
📊 Almost every big-city landlord asks for a SCHUFA report. Order it early — it speeds up the flat hunt.
