EU layers: Council of Europe (all states, not just EU — human rights court), EU (27 states, single market, €), Eurozone (20 states with €), Schengen (no borders). Your rights as an EU citizen: live/work anywhere in EU, free movement, European Court for violations. European elections every 5 years — vote there too.
