✅ Lesson done
~10% of Germans are vegetarian, ~2% vegan. Meat substitutes: tofu, tempeh, seitan, lentils, chickpeas. Critical nutrients without meat: B12 (supplements only), iron (with vitamin C!), protein (legumes + grains), iodine (sea fish → iodised salt), calcium (broccoli, tofu). Supermarkets are full of substitutes — but check the price: tofu schnitzel costs twice as much as meat.
- ●The V-label (yellow-green) is the European vegetarian mark
- ●Iodised salt instead of sea salt — critical without fish
- ●B12: 3 µg/day — only from supplements or fortified foods
🥦 Berlin is considered the vegan capital of Europe: ~600 restaurants with a vegan menu.
